SCO and G20 Presidency of India will strengthen world security – Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday said the SCO and G20 presidency by India will build multi-dimensional cooperation among the two countries and strengthen stability and security throughout the world. While India assumed the G20 Presidency on December 1, it also assumed the rotating presidency of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on September 16.

Russia and India are celebrating 75 years of diplomatic relations in 2022, according to Putin’s New Year message to Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Kremlin officials said that they continue to develop their specially privileged strategic partnership based on a tradition of friendship and mutual respect.

Besides energy, military technology and other areas of cooperation, the two countries conducted large-scale trade and economic projects, and coordinated efforts to address critical regional and global issues. “India’s recently begun SCO and G20 presidencies will open new opportunities to build multi-dimensional Russian-Indian cooperation that will strengthen stability and security in Asia and the entire world,” he said.
