Emirates SkyCargo has expanded its freighter network by introducing a dedicated weekly service to Copenhagen Airport, Denmark. The addition brings the total number of freighter destinations served by the carrier to 38, reflecting growing demand for cargo transportation in Scandinavia. The Boeing 777 freighter deployed on this route provides approximately 85 tonnes of cargo capacity, accommodating shipments not only from Denmark but also from neighboring countries, including Norway and Sweden.

The service is expected to enhance trade links and meet the region’s increasing logistical requirements. Emirates SkyCargo reported a significant 20 percent growth in cargo volumes from Denmark over the past financial year, largely driven by pharmaceutical exports. Copenhagen’s advanced cold chain infrastructure and its position as a key hub for Europe’s life sciences industry have contributed to this growth.

The airline aims to leverage this strategic position to expand its presence in pharmaceutical logistics. Beyond pharmaceuticals, the new service supports a wide array of cargo, including temperature-sensitive perishables such as fish and food products. Emirates SkyCargo’s multi-vertical product portfolio ensures flexible and reliable transport solutions for diverse customer needs, reinforcing its role in global supply chains.

Mette Jensen, Cargo Manager for Scandinavia at Emirates SkyCargo, highlighted the strong demand across the region, particularly in Copenhagen. She emphasized that the dedicated freighter service will help meet current demand and enable customers to access a broad range of international markets.

With this addition, Emirates SkyCargo now operates 38 dedicated freighter flights weekly to 11 destinations across Europe. This network is further supported by over 485 weekly passenger flights, offering extensive cargo capacity and connectivity. The expansion aligns with Emirates SkyCargo’s strategy to strengthen its global footprint, providing scalable and efficient logistics solutions to support regional and international trade. – By MENA Newswire News Desk.
